Band

Our Program
 
The St. Hilary Band Program strives to provide students with the opportunity to further their musical growth through the means of learning an instrument. The band program is a co-curricular program that allows students in 4th-8th grade build off the content they learn in music class. Instruments offered are flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.

Concert and Cadet Band
​
Concert Band is for students who have been promoted from Cadet Band. Generally comprised of 5th-8th grade students who have been playing for more than one year, students focus on developing musical nuances, ensemble playing, technique, and advanced skills. Students perform at three concerts a year and pep assemblies.

Rehearsals: Mondays 3-4pm Thursdays 7-7:45 am

Cadet Band is for students who are just starting to learn an instrument. Any student in 4th-8th grade may join Cadet Band. We focus on instrument fundamentals, basic notation, and music literacy. Students perform at two concerts a year. Rehearsals: Mondays and Wednesdays 7-7:45 am.

Ukulele and Other instrumental opportunities​
 

St. Hilary School offers a Ukulele Club. During the 2016-2017 school year, Ukulele Jam sessions will be Friday mornings from 7:10-7:45 am. These sessions are inteded for intermediate to advanced players to read through different songs of all genres.

Ukulele FUNdamentals will be on Friday afternoons. These sessions are for 3rd graders on up who have the desire to learn how to play ukulele.

​

Lessons for flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, ukulele, guitar, and piano are available.
